With Christmas around the corner, everyone of must have been involved with one form of shopping or the other. It is so exhilarating to observe the energy with which we all shop for this memorable event in human history. We remember our relatives and friends all over the world. We bring to mind those times we all have spent together as one family or social associates.
The main thrust of the season is the phenomenon of caring, love and sharing which would come to some others as a time of sorrow and regret. Many would be reminded of how they had no friends and family to reach out to or be reached by. The simply have no home or means of affording the gifts and presents we all share amongst ourselves. The are poor. The have nothing to show for living. They are orphans. They have no one to cuddle or hold them as a child or brother. They are sick. They have no full control over their physical faculties.
Those are the people Jesus Christ laid much emphases on when He was here on earth, and we would not be out of place taking up this task of reaching out to those people. They just need someone to say to them loving words. They need someone to show a simple expression of affection. It might be a small gesture to us but it is huge to them. Let us made their day by sending themn those tokens of love in forms of food, clothes, cards, hampers and our presence. That would ring a bell throughout their eternity.
