As the year comes to an end

Posted by KingdomTalk on November 29, 2008

This month has been a very busy one for me both on the home and business fronts. In the midst of it all, one thing I noticed was my reduced time for prayers and other spiritual devotions that need urgent attention. As the year runs to an end, we all will be involved with one year-end activity or the other, meetings, workshops, budgets, assessments, etc., but this is also the time to be vigilant of the activities from the kingdom of our spiritual adversary and his agents. The church is more vulnerable when it is in the festive mood, we tend to be so weary in well doing in the service of God, get low in prayer fuel, feel so many pressures on every side and that sense of not accomplishing enough in the year. Weariness will be the dominant factor in the air.

You know what? Our God brings the best out of us when we feel so weary and vulnerable; He brings much achievement out of our low moods, He shows Himself strong through us when we feel so inadequate, He makes us have more impact on people’s lives when we feel so poor of some ingredients and resources to offer. This is to make sure the glory does not get focused on us. We don’t own the glory, it belongs to Him.

So, make this season one of vigilance and spiritual discernment. Ask God for increased wisdom to quench all the wiles of the devil targeted at you. This year should not have you on record as being defeated at the last minute of the battle. He that started the good work in you will perfect and complete it to the end. You should have the last laugh in this out-going year.
